A condenser has to put the heat somewhere
Build a wine column into a run of cabinetry with the base grille facing a closed plinth and the machine compartment ends up breathing its own warm exhaust. The compartment holds for a while, then holds less well in summer, then stops holding at all — which is the same story a failing sealed system tells, at a different order of cost entirely.
Telling them apart is a measurement, not an opinion. Air temperature at the grille, air temperature leaving it, and the current the fan is drawing: if the gap between those two readings is small, the problem is the box around the appliance and not the machine inside it.
Ice at the far end of a long line
